Here are some high points that show my unique qualifications:
- I served three years on active duty in the U.S. Army
- I have a strong record of public service, having served 6 years on the Centerville School Board, four years as Chair of the Montana Board of Labor Appeals, and am currently Chairing the Montana State Fund (insurance company for workers’ compensation)
- I have a broad background as a Montanan, having ranched for 21 years, raising cows and other livestock, including the accidental cultivation of raccoons
- I have a broad background as a lawyer, and have prosecuted, represented soldiers, taught the law of war, written wills, completed probates, done divorces, handled property disputes, and represented insurance companies, in addition to my work as a lawyer for injured Montanans from all walks of life.
- I am respected by my peers, am AV+ rated by Martindale-Hubbell, am a member of ABOTA, have been a member of the Board for the Montana Trial Lawyers’ Association for 16 years. I was elected MTLA President in 2001.
- I have not only prosecuted crimes. I have also done criminal defense work.
- I was appointed by the Supreme Court to serve, and continue to serve, as Vice Chair of Advisory Commission on Civil and Appellate Procedure.
- I was appointed by the Supreme Court to serve, and continue to serve, on the Commission on Rules of Evidence.
- I was appointed by the Federal Judges in Montana to serve on Local Rules Committee for Montana.
